We have three guest bedrooms on the ground-floor (plus one single en-suite upstairs.)
Because we have three accessible rooms, it is crucial to reserve any mobility aids you might wish to use.
Please do this WHEN YOU BOOK your accommodation, thank you.
Aids include: wheelchair, shower chair; toilet seat raiser; bed-blocks; mobile hoist; bed back-rest.
Room 1 - double, en-suite with level access shower

Shower chair in en-suite, Room One
For Room One (level-access shower) we can provide a Sherwood "perching" stool or this shower chair with removable arms. If you prefer, a plastic garden chair is also available. Grab rails and transfer rails in place. The toilet is 16" (41cm) high and a toilet seat raiser is also available. The sink is 27" high with knee space under and it has lever taps. This en-suite will accommodate a mobile hoist (see below.)

The wardrobe in this bedroom has the option of a lower hanging rail for easy wheelchair access. One (or both) bedroom chairs can be removed to increase floor space. The desk height is 27" (69cm) high and provides easy wheelchair access. The bed is 24" (61cm) high and can be raised to 30" (76cm) high by using our purpose-made bed-blocks. This is particularly important if a mobile hoist is necessary. We are happy to hire this from a local medical-care facility, at a reasonable charge, please ask for more information. The hoist can be used for toilet transfer as well as bed transfer. You would need to provide your own "toileting sling" for hygiene reasons. Please visit Room One page to see further photographs of Room One.
Room 2 - super-king or twin beds, en-suite with level access shower
Room Two en-suite has undergone a complete refurbishment (October 2006). Room Two now offers:

The desk is 25.5" high and access to the desk would be difficult with a wheelchair. The bed(s) are 23.5" (60cm) high and in the twin arrangement, one bed can be raised to 29.5" (75cm) high by using our purpose-made bed-blocks. This is particularly important if a mobile hoist is necessary. We are happy to hire this from a local medical-care facility, at a reasonable charge, please ask for more information. The hoist can be used in the en-suite as well as for bed transfer.

Pedestal sink with easy wheelchair access under. Vertical grab rail next to sink and lever taps. Storage shelves to left of the sink can be moved if desired.Room 3 - super-king or twin beds, en-suite
WC with grab rails at each side,Room Three The step into the shower cubicle is 7 inches high. There is a grab rail for entry and another inside the cubicle. There are grab rails each side of the toilet – 17” (43cm) high (toilet seat raiser available). Although the bathroom is very large, there is NOT sufficient space for a mobile hoist next to the toilet itself. We have a shower chair with commode facility if that is any help in this regard. There is a vertical grab rail to assist entry and exit for the sunken whirlpool bath as well as a horizontal one alongside the bath. There is a bath seat available for those who prefer not get too low in the bath. There is a grab-rail next to the sink which is 27” (69cm) high with generous knee space under and has lever taps.
Sunken bath with horizontal & vertical grab rails,Room Three
The desk is 27" (69cm) high and the bed(s) are 23" (58cm) high. The height of one bed in twin arrangement can be raised to 29" (74cm) high by using our purpose-made bed-blocks. This is particularly important if a mobile hoist is necessary. We are happy to hire this from a local medical-care facility, at a reasonable charge, please ask for more information. For hygiene reasons, you would need to provide your own "toileting sling" for use with the bed hoist. If a hoist is necessary for toileting as well, we advise you to consider using Room One or Room Two, not Room Three. Please visit Room Three page to see photographs of Room Three.
